REVIEWS / READERS AND PUBLISHERS COMMENTS
If ever a book was misnamed, this is it! ‘Peace Hotel’ should quickly be replaced by ‘Lack Of Peace Hotel’. In little more than 200 pages, readers will find that interest rises from mildly inquisitive to rapidly advancing infatuation. Heart skipping, loud laughs and no intentions to put the book down. Mr. Marquis, at his first published work, certainly knows how to tell a tale, with a natural penchant for keeping his unsuspecting reader waiting for the inevitable ‘goodies’. What started in a glum, hopeless, and colourless beginning, with impending death and lack of human spirit seemingly overwhelming features, the ugly duckling ‘Peace Hotel’ quickly transformed in to a swan.

In a world beset by the realities of modern day change, it was a genuine pleasure to lose myself within the realms of fantasy; a French farce for modern times; and as its hero, ‘Germ’ was described, as so ‘outrageously different’. ‘Germ’ himself was described as a waster, amongst other less salubrious descriptions, but soon proved an undying sensitivity to the war dead, its graves, his Gallic hosts, electronic gadgets, and yes, Cyrano de Bergerac – and especially to the vulnerability of a damsel in acute distress. But please; don’t take my word for it. Read ‘Peace Hotel’ yourself. You’ll never regret having checked in!
